Post-It Notes for ...
Happy Birthday, ...
August Babies!
Sunday, 12th
First time singing in the recording of a song; it's the theme song, WE Cross!  I was excited to sing.  When we listen to it, everyone else sounds so fine and blends in, but I feel embarrassed to hear my own voice in it.  It sounds too foreign and awkward to me.
Monday, 13th

I was quite tired of studying around 8:30pm, so I went to BBQ's on Spadina to grab my favourite 1/2lb. Wing Dinner.  I asked the cook to turn the order into a take-out 'cause I was too anxious to head back and study.  When my tasty honey-mustard-flavoured dinner was ready and I was about to walk back to a gloomy and lonesome place such as the Robarts Library, the cook asked me, "what would you like to drink?"  I gave him a toned down version of a look of astonishment.  I couldn't believe that he gave me a drink for free!  I said, "Orange Juice, please", with a smile of satisfaction on my face.  He handed me a glass of Minute Maid.  What a nice and sweet treat for a wearied heart!
Tuesday, 14th
Handed a white envelope on which I recognized the honest handwriting of my Aunt, Ho, I opened it and saw a little card with a cute looking bunny bathing in a tub.  The background is a soft light blue brightened by tiny sparkling bubbles.  A birthday card, my first one this year.  Several lines about what's going on in the family, and a couple words of encouragement.  My name, "Happy Birthday" in Chinese, and her name.  A piece of paper becomes very precious when written on it are the names of two people, connected by an expression of thoughtfulness.  To happen, it takes more than what one can earn in a life time - an aunt who genuinely cares about her niece, and a niece who treasures being thought of.

Quoted from an email written by Jasmine to a new Ambassador:

Actually, being an ambassador is very simple: you  have to be genuinely interested in people and willing to love and care about them :) It will also help if you are a cheerful person, because happiness is contagious.  Basically anyone with those qualities can be an ambassador.
'aving stressed myself out over these couple days thinking about "how to facilitate Hospitality in the camp", I see this as a cure!  Thanks, Dai Jas!  Hospitality is not a program or a job.  Rather, it's about people, their lives, their stories, and their needs!  Eyes opened to see, hands ready to help and a heart vulnerable to love will help!  Just step out and do it!

To love, and to be hurt often, and to love again - this is brave and happy life. (Indeed, I like this quote by                                                                                           J.E. Buchrose)

Panelists' meeting at BOM.  Good question, "have I crossed (into the world)?"  What do I think about multiculturalism?  My honest answer is I don't know.  I really don't.  I only know that currently, I am trying out various things, and Multiculturalism is one of those that I happen to come across with.  Eric and Bosco were right; I find myself starting to admit that context plays a greater role than my own initiative at least this far in my life.
Friday, 17th
Thank you Lord, for the "self-dissection" workshop, and Nicole and the wonderful "cell time" when Nicole and I have praised, thanked and enjoyed You together tonight.  Yes, each of us is one if the blind men "feeling" the elephant.  Each of us sees differently the father, the elder brother and the prodigal son.
But Nicole, though your eyes, I am re-introduced to a loving God who's capable of boundless acceptance.  Yes, God is foolish when making investments.  He is.  That's Him!
And yes, we will be a bottle emptied and filled, emptied and filled, emptied and filled ... on and on by Him before we go back Home.  We don't want to let it stop.  Reject not an honest criticism lest it becomes our own blindspot.
Thank you Lord again and again for your lavish love and gracious blessings upon us tonight, in the past times and days to come.  TYL!

Savouring Nicole's home-made biscotti's as a tasty late night snack.  Yum Yum!  Though there's no hot chocolate to dip, the heart is warmed eating the thoughtfully made biscotti's.
