In year 2015, Tokyo-3 is attacked by some unknown species called angels. The only hope for mankind to survive depend on a humanoid fighting machine ( EVANGELION ), developed by NERV.

But, only three 14 years old children are able to handle the EVANGELION. They are rei, asuka and shinji.
