[bio - 2004] Kou Shibasaki debuted as an actress. Her
breakout role was playing the bitch Mitsuko in "Battle
Royale". She then released her debut single, "Trust
my feelings". While it didn't sell that well, she shot
to the top with her second single, "Tsuki no Shizuku",
from the movie "Yomigaeri". Instead of releasing the
single under her name, she used her character's name
from "Yomigaeri" - RUI. Since then, Kou has become a
popular artist as well as actress. She is now respected
by both female and male audiences and has become a hot
commodity.
