NWMP RNWMP RCMP

Researcher for hire has access to service files of the NWMP, RNWMP or RCMP available starting with the new series Reg #1 through to #3800 located in the National Archives and RCMP HQ for those above 3800 Other available documents are:.
  1. POST WW1 RECORDS The Canadian Government set guide lines for the destruction of Personal Files and many RCMP service files, ESPECIALLY men enlisting around 1914 were destroyed for those who served short periods of time . This policy was eventually cancelled and records are relatively intact for those in the RCMP from 1935 onwards. Proof of death , more than 20 years must be supplied by researcher to obtain complete file. If proof of death not available some information is releasable but RCMP strickly follow Government Access to Information.
  2. LONG SERVICE MEDAL My personal data base contains every RCMP Long Service medal recipient listing date awarded, and includes hundreds of World War 1 Veterans who enlisted in RCMP after the War or who were previous members but never listed service on their CEF Attestation. In cross reference with Military Records have recorded hundreds of dates of death not available in RCMP records as well listed and have copies of every RCMP Quarterly obit notice. Some members had previous British Military Service, Fenian Raid and North West Canada service and this too has been input when known.
  3. PAY LISTS & DETACHMENT RECORDSPay records exists for members of Reg. # into the 10000's. These are valuable documents, especially for those whose records destroyed, pay records indicate where and when served. Some Detachment records and defaulters ledgers are available for certain time periods.
