STATEMENT OF PURPOSE Celtic Women Toronto was established in the autumn of 2001 to forward the mission of Celtic Women International. We seek also build on this mission and tailor it to the unique needs of Celtic women in Canada. This includes showcasing Canadian Celtic heritage and providing mentorship for young Celtic women. We are aware of the unique position of Toronto a multicultural community and we recognize the need to make our Celtic culture meaningful within this context. To further this goal, we want to encourage dialogue between people of diverse backgrounds and develop opportunities for the next generation to continue to be Celtic but within a larger cultural context. Celtic Women Toronto is committed to creating the opportunity to make connections with other cultures. It is a significant defining aspect of Celtic heritage to cross paths with other cultures, enriching all. |
