| Day 1: 18th March 2002: Alas we reached here after a long and a hot trip at 5.45 pm a full 3.30 hrs behind schedule. We checked into our beautiful Mermaid Days Inn hotel and are having a good time. All the Children are safe and healthy. Tommorrow we shall be going for sightseeing of Cochin. All the children have liked the hotel Mermaid Days Inn. We have just finished Dinner and retiring to bed. Day 2 : 19th March 2002 Today we went for sightseeing of Cochin in the morning. We were surprised and happy to get a Air conditioned bus. We first visited Fort Cochin and visited the Church of Rev Francis Xaviers. We then saw the Chinese fishing nets and the jewish Syngouge. We returned to the hotel in the afternoon to have hot lunch and then saw the cricket match for some time. We then went to the Marine drive where we had a harbour cruise which was wonderful. We are ending the day with cutting a chocolate cake for Akash and eating a sumptous Chinese Dinner |

| Day 3: 20th March 2002 Sorry no contact for last 2 days as Internet in Munnar is yet to start. We all arrived in Munnar hale and Hearty. On the first day we went to the Mettupatty Dam and watched the bird activity and the lovely view at the Dam. Day 4: 21st March 2002 Today we went to the Eravikulam National Park in the morning. We trekked 9 Kms to and fro into the park. We saw the endangered Nilgiri Thar and many other birds. By the time we returned to the hotel we were dead tired. In the evening we had a very tasty Pau Bhaji. Day 5: 22nd March 2002 We started early morning at 8 am for Thekkady. We reached Thekkady at 12.15 pm and checked into our very lovely Silver Crest Hotel. The moment we entered the hotel all the Boys went into the Pool for Swimming and are still there at the time of writing this site. All the students are safe and healthy. Day 6 : 23rd March 2002 Today we got up early at 5 am and then had a breakfast of Poha, coffee, bread butter and Jam and then went to the Periyar Tiger reserve. We then trekked inside the Jungle in 3 groups with a forest gaurd accommpanying us. It was a wonderful experience inside the thick jungle. We saw many varieties of Bird including the Hornbill. We returned to the hotel in time for lunch. After some rest we again went to the park for the boat cruise. We were unlucky and did not see many animals. We only saw Sambhar deer, Wild boars, Barking deer and otters. We returned to the hotel and then went to a restaurant to have Masala Dosa. Tomorow we will go to Cochin via Alleppey. Day 7 : 24th March 2002: We started at 8 am from Thekkady and reached Allepey at 12 noon. We then went for a boat ride on the back waters which was very hot but we had fun on an island where we had coconut water. We then reached Cochin at 6 pm and in the evening went out to have a lavish buffet at Hotel Whitefort. We have just returned to the hotel at 11 pm. Tomorrow we leave for Mumbai. Day 8 : 25th March 2002 We took the train at 2 .30 pm. Thankfully the journeywas not very hot. Day 9 : 26th March 2002 We reached Mumbai at 8.30 pm. 2 hours behind schedule. and the bus was waiting to take us to school. OUR THANKS TO: 1. The Bombay Natural History Society 2.
