| Day 1: 22nd October 2002 We started from Mumbai and the night was spent in the train Day 2 : 23rd October 2002 Today the whole day was in train. It was a comfortable journey and not very hot Day 3: 24th October 2002 We reached Howrah half an hour before schedule and transfered to Hotel Rutt Deen. It is a beautiful hotel with central airconditioning. We had breakfast of hot bata wadas and then went for the long and tiring trip to Shantiniketan. But unfortunately due to the very heavy traffic could not reach Shantiniketan before it closed. We shall be visiting Shantiniketan on our return journey now. Day 4: 25th October 2002 Today we saw the imposing Victoria Memorial. We also celebrated the birthday of two girls by cutting cakes. In the evening we took the train to New Jalpaiguri. Day 5: 26th October 2002 We reached New Jalpaiguri at 9.30 am and had a breakfast of hot Masala Dosa and Wada. It was very tasty. We then took the bus to Mirik which has a very lovely lake. It is very cold and we are enjoying it. We had a hot lunch of Puri Bhaji at the lakeside and then went to Darjeeling. We reached Darjeeling at 7 pm and checked into our hotel Mohit. Day 6: 27th October 2002 Today we went for Sightseeing of 7 points in the morning. In the afternoon we visited the rock gardens which we all enjoyed. Day 7 : 28th October 2002 Today we woke up early at 3 am. We went for sightseeing of Ti |
