THE DALLAS, TEXAS MACHINE, SEPTEMBER 18, 2001-JUNE 11, 2002 (MACHINE #14)

Fig. 68

There is a unique quadruple-sequential transactions, one sequential complete transactions, two double-sequential complete transactions, ten $1.36 "sets," one $4.08 set and one $5.44 set, from this machine (variety qq, Figure 68). Comparable: Scott 168. In order to appreciate the importance of this suite, one must remember that, as it was being printed, there was always a possibility of it being interrupted by transactions from Hayward and Baltimore. As it is, the other sequential complete transactions is only one transaction number away from making the suite a quintuple-sequential complete transactions. This suite is equivalent to having a block of sixty of one of the 1875 or 1880 Special Printings. There is a time zone indicium, but it is an error, "EST." The flag is blue2. The sheets show the second ad on the fourth backing paper. There is short tagging, the same length as that on varieties a-m, z and the Rosslyn and Warrenton sheets. These Dallas sheets show the only short tagging on second ad sheets. Every fifth sheet shows upper left microprinting part omitted. Another every-fifth-sheet sequence shows blotting in three places in right microprinting. Regarding the quadruple-sequential, in the first transactions the $5.44 set is ULS (S). The third shows the (unique) longest ULS sequence (S): $4.08, $5.44 plus one sheet of the $6.80 (eight sheets). The fourth shows $5.44 ULS (S). In the sequential complete transactions, the $5.44 set is ULS (S).

124. $50000. Variety qq quadruple-SCT. Superb.

125. $13000. Variety qq SCT. Superb.
