Once upon a crime.

A different kettle of fish

For some days, it felt like it was a non-stop party.

I learn I was to have a brother since Maataa went to the ultrasound. It was quite obvious: he was displaying all what we needed to see.

All had turned up well, it seems.

Even Ellen was less on Moshe's back when he was with my parents. She even shows a very pleasant smile. And Maataa was more than happy of it.And me with her.

It is sad that, of the five of us, only three made it out.

I still don’t understand how the two other made it to look so much there.

Kara and I were the healthier.

I learned that Kamla was the one they found in the garbage can and mistaken for me.

The whole community planned to do something so she won’t be forgotten. I just wonder a thing, and for that, Maataa was unable to give me a sufficient answer: how come everyone is suddenly so attentive and noticing the quint, now that they knew of their ordeals in the news? As well for me? That is before all that began that they should have acted. I find it hard to believe no one deliberately acted.

Besides me and Kara, Kaia and Kala where found together. They were barely clinging to life.

Kala never made it back. Kaia did.

Only, she is turning all the mirror or veiling them.

Sef, that is one of mommy co-worker, said he will help to find someone to reconstruct her face, soon.

I asked for someone to allow Kara to talk. Tongue prosthesis is apparently unheard of. Perhaps I should become a scientist and invent one.

A blind can work, communicate and be functional as well as a deaf. Mute by mutilation, they said that replacing the tongue is not an option. I am all sad of that. More because, like I said before, all that could have been avoided if someone would have dared gossiping on it, for once. They gossip on tones of unimportant things, but, suddenly, when it is important, everyone is keeping their mouths shut.

There are so many things, even in school, that asks you to be able to talk.

If someone at school ever teases her about that, I will be her body guard. That's for sure.

She is a normal girl like me. Well almost.

Oh, yes, I didn't announce that to you, Maataa and daddy decided to ask the social services to adopt both of them. We have to find a bigger house with a room for each of us and the coming brother.

But my parents alleged that nothing can stop Love.

I hope this will work.

In the meantime, we visit them in the youth care’s house, and we will soon be in the same school.

They never went.

All they learn came from Mother.

Kaia and Kara are the only one with who I can share, now. At least, that bond is tighter due to all we lived together. We just can’t forget.

What ever what the adults are saying to us, that changes our lives for ever.
