Hello there, I am Hedwige, and I was born on October 1, 2004, in St. Leger en Yvelines, about 40 miles from Paris, France. I am a West Highland White Terrier, but you can call me a Westie if you like. By the way, my real name is Virtual Hedwige because in France, there is this silly rule about naming all pedigree dogs with the same letter for each year, and 2004 was the year of the V's.
On November 27, 2004, I was adopted by Catherine and Ilan. Here is Catherine getting me for the first time. Doesn't she look happy? I didn't know her at the time, so I was a little bit frantic, but now I love her and Ilan!
This is Mme. di Tauzia, who owns my mum Sucrette (AKA Sous le Charme). I don't remember Mme. di Tauzia very well, but I hear that she is the secretary of the European Association of Scottish Terriers. She loves her dogs so much that she cried when I left. But I will see her again soon to get my first "toilettage".
Speaking of which, here is the big moment when I left my old home for my new home.
Catherine and Ilan have been taking me
to see all the sights of Paris, for example,
like the Jardin du Luxembourg. I love it there
because, as you can see here, I can do my
favourite activity: digging, digging, digging!
We also took a trip to Brittany for the Christmas vacation, and we brought all my stuff with us, which is quite a lot:
It was great!! I just loved the beach, which was cold and windy, which is my favourite weather (I'm Scottish, you know).
I discovered that beaches are so wonderful, because I can dig, dig, dig!
