  • ¡°PATENT LAW COURSE¡± (1986), the first textbook in the field published in China, used by more than 100 universities as the text including Beijing University, etc. Mr. Rong is Author and Chief Editor chaired the committee members from Dalian University, North Eastern University, Jilin University, North Eastern Normal University, and Harbin Technology University, Patent Office of China.

Canada China Friendship & Community Contributions

From 1990 to 1994

  • Participated in receiving the first ¡°Chinese Mayors Delegation Group¡± studying tour in Canada (1990).

  • Presented the paper, ¡°Comment upon the Copyright Case ¨C Last Emperor of China (English version)¡±, at the annual conference of Learned Society.

  • Cooperated oftentimes with Ming Newspaper, Xing Dao Newspaper and Chinese Consulate General Office of Toronto to Lecture and host training sessions for Chinese Business Communities in GTA Re: Doing business with China (1993-1995)

  • Organized for ¡°Shanghai Expo 94¡± in Metro-Convention Center, which was headed by the CPC Secretary of Shanghai the Hon. Wu Bangguo, now the Chairman of People¡¯s Congress of China  (1994).

 From 1994 to 1997

  • As an active community leader in Toronto, he has received, arranged, and assisted numerous Chinese delegation groups from across China for attracting opportunities of trade and investment from Canada. Those groups included many Chinese Government leadership delegation groups, such as from the city of Shanghai, Tianjin, Jiangsu (incl. Wuxi, Suzhou) Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong and Liaoning, etc.

  • Invited oftentimes to lecture and host training sessions and seminars for Chinese Provincial and civic delegation groups in Toronto, including the Bank of China Groups, the Chinese Industry Commerce Bureau, etc.

  • In association with the Economic and Trading Development of Ontario, Prof. RONG participated ¡°Auto Part Manufacturing group of Ontario to China¡±, examined investments in Chinese Auto General Corporation in Beijing, Shanghai Auto Group, Guangzhou Auto Industry, etc. (1994)

  • Invited by the Chinese Government to lecture for Chinese entrepreneurs at the ¡°7th Annual Sino-Foreign Business Executive Summit¡± in Beijing and attended the reception on National Day of China (1996).

  • Invited oftentimes to lecture & training sessions for Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Manufacturer Association, International Trade Association etc. about the topics of ¡°How to do business in China¡±, etc.

 From 1997 to 2001

  • Assisted and participated CCTV of China for the film shooting of ¡°Fen-Xue-Sang-Zi-Qing¡± ¨C> Chinese New Year Celebration Overseas in the studio hall of CBC in Toronto.

  • Founded the CFCIE and RONG¡¯s International Group of Canada.

  • Hosted and lectured for the general public attending the Chinese culture Festival at the Canada-China Cultural Art Gala in Toronto.

  • As a member of CCBC, participated and sponsored many of Sino-Canadian Friendship developments activities such as: sponsored the banquet for Chairman Li Ruihuan of China National Committee of Political Consulting in Toronto.

  •  As the Appointed ¡°Business Ambassador of Brampton¡± (in 1997), hosted Mayors of Benxi, Haikou and Nanning city, etc. in Brampton in conjunction with Brampton City.

  • One of the Sponsors for the Gala Banquet in the People¡¯s Hall of Beijing during the Team Canada 2001 to China leading by Hon. Jean Chr¨¦tien, Formal PM of Canada, and signed agreements to establish the Sino-Canadian International College (SCIC) and Sino-Canadian International School (SCIS) in China.

 From 2002 onwards

  • Sponsored and Joined CCBC¡¯s AGM in Beijing and Qingdao with Hon Allen Rock, the Minister of Industry of Canada (2002).

  •  As one of eight Platinum Sponsors of Canada, sponsored the Gala Banquet of CCBC 25th Anniversary Policy Conference and AGM in Beijing (Oct. 22, 2003), to which the Hon Jean Chretien, Prime Minister of Canada and his Excellency Wen Jiabao, Chinese Premier as guest speakers to the AGM and Banquet.

  • Prof. S. RONG received by His Excellency Wen Jiabao, the Chinese Premier in Beijing.

  • Joined the Leaders¡¯ Luncheon in Ottawa hosted by Hon. Jean Chretien, the formal PM of Canada for the receiving the Chinese Premier, Hon. Wen Jiabao (Dec 11, 2003).

  • Prof. S. RONG, invited by Hon J. Peterson, Minister of Int¡¯l Trade, joined ¡°Canada Trade Mission¡± to China in Jan of 2005 headed by Hon. Paul Martin, PM of Canada. Prof. RONG signed SCIC agreements with two Chinese Universities in Beijing, and delivered the speech in Hong Kong on the topics of doing business in China.
