What we offer

• We publish a quarterly magazine called “The Scrivener”. A sample of The Scrivener can viewed here.
   
• We have an ongoing publications programme producing books and fiche.
   
• We publish a Members' Interests Book in which members can publish their interests by surname, showing both research done, and information required, by date.
   
• We operate a limited Parish Register, and 1851 and 1881 Census enquiry service.
   
• We have a dedicated Research Room in Brighouse.
   
• Our Strays Co-ordinator would be pleased to receive details of any strays you find during your research. State the name, type of event, place of source and place from where they strayed in capital letters, preferably on card 5”x 3”, and in duplicate. Members who require a search of the Strays Index should enclose with their enquiry, a stamped self-addressed envelope (SSAE) or 2  International Reply Coupons (I.R.C.’s) and a minimum donation of  £1 per name.
   
• As an added benefit to our society, we created a Yahoo group for our members who are interested in discussing their genealogy histories, sharing their work, finding others who are interested in exchanging information and becoming friends.
