Sean Diamond
Sean's role on OVERTIME and at CFRC-FM is an interesting one as he takes the role as both a mentor and a rookie. Sean unofficially joined the CFRC Sports crew two weeks into the 1999 fall semseter but only officially became a member this past winter. Thus Sean may officially be considered a rookie, but unoficially he has had as much radio experience as any other member of OVERTIME. Sean has been a host, technician, play-by-play and colour commentator for Queen's Univeristy Sporting events in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Specifically look for Sean to be involved in the Spring time Golden Gael football, hockey and basketball broadcasts. Sean is a Second Year Honours Economics student and will not be involved in regular CFRC broadcasts in the winter of 2002 because he will be on an exchange to Uppsala University in Sweeden. He does however, promise to check-in from time to time with the CFRC-FM radio sports broadcasts so pay attention to the Sweedish Report.
Sean's favourite sport is hockey which he loves with a passion. He has played competitve hockey since he was eight years old and although he does not play for the Queen's Golden Gael hockey team, he continues to play with Queen's Intramurals and is grateful to be still involved with Varsity University hockey. Sean also enjoys playing and watching football, basketball, squash, tennis and volleyball and while he enjoys playing baseball, he does not enjoy watching it.
Sean's short and voluntary career in the media entails volunteering as one of four students who acted in a CBC news special on the accesibility of hate and dangerous materials on the internet to high school students. This show was aired twice in the mid 90's and is now sealed in the CBC vault, perhaps watching CBC Newsworld in the future, you will see a young Sean Diamond. Sean is excited about OVERTIME and looks forward to providing you great radio in Fall-Winter of 2001-2002.
