GUIDELINES FOR CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
The "Church School Enrollment Form" should be filled out by the parent and returned to me at Christian Fellowship School. Complete one enrollment for each school age child. (You may copy if necessary.) It seems apparent from Alabama law that this filing is to be done by the close of the 5th day that the public schools are open. (Schools are starting earlier every year, so be sure I receive the forms in time to get them sent in.) There is no requirement to file annually. However, if a child ceases to attend this church school, the school is to notify the public school superintendent that the child is no longer enrolled in this school.
Other requirements are as follows:
1) The principal teacher of the church school must keep an attendance register for each day of the school year and a daily plan record.
2) The church school must offer grades K-12 or any combination thereof.
3) School age are those between the ages of 7 and 16. ( Child must be of age by September 1)
4) Subjects are to include reading, spelling, writing, arithmetic, English, geography, history of the United Sates, science, health, physical education, and Alabama history.
5) Each church school in the home should provide instruction for at least 175 days per year in the required subjects listed above. (That is, 175 before absences. For example, you may record that your child attended 169 out of 175 days.)
"Blessed is the man who walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in His law doeth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth it’s fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper." Psalm 1:1-3.
