If
you need a doctor for an urgent problem outside normal surgery hours, phone:
0191
477 2243 The practice answer message will tell you what to
do. Please remember that the out of hours service is for urgent problems
only. Routine problems divert doctors away from real emergencies. Particularly
serious symptoms include:
- Severe chest pain with sweating / breathlessness / nausea
- Collapse with unconsciousness at any age
- Difficulty breathing sufficient to make speaking
or movement difficult
- Babies or young
children who seem drowsy or ‘floppy’, particularly if accompanied by temperature
/ rash / vomiting / breathlessness.
In these cases contact a doctor immediately or call 999.
Patients with injuries involving possible broken bones should also go directly
to Accident & Emergency. Out of hours, the practice uses the Gateshead
Doctors Co-op ‘Gatdoc’. |
