Jonathan Berger's Poetry: Poem of the Day |
LEX It's not fun always being behind always coming in second always losing. But he takes comfort that someone has to do it and he knows that, unlike others, at least he's in the running. And he's read his scriptures, with that massive mind of his, and he has interpretations, ideas. Without the devil, there could truly be no heavenly host. Without opposite numbers, all the positives lack their lustre, lose their shine. Without hunger, no meal can be truly delicious and without the darkest night, who would care about the light? He knows how important he is and he takes comfort in that, a s he plans his next scheme, devises another plot to get that damned foreigner off his planet quicker than you could say, "Great Scott!" |
