Jonathan Berger's Poetry: Poem of the Day |
AFTER SCHOOL After school, let's go to your house. You've got the big TV, and your mom doesn't mind setting an extra place for dinner. I wanna play that new video game you got, and check out the magazines in your dad's shed. He never yells when he catches us anyway. After school, I wanna go to your house. I love your place, with the air conditioning, and the backyard - and your dog's cute, too. Let's go to your place. I hear your sister's back from reform school. We can see if it worked. She's probably looking for visitors, anyway. Come on, come on. I don't want to go to my place. There's nothing there, there's nobody there. I want to be somewhere fun and clean and safe and good. Please, come on, say it's OK. Let's go to your place... |
