| Jonathan Berger's Poetry: Poem of the Day |
| ANTICIPATION I don't think I have a thing left in my stomach (Likely, since I haven't eaten all day). And I'm jumping at every sound. Every few steps I need to stop and steady myself, making sure my ankles can keep their trembling under control. Vaporous colors are flying just slightly out of view – ghosts before my eyes. All the things that seemed so important to me yesterday – my grandmother's funeral my grades my rapid ascent as leader of my block association – they all seem slightly irrelevant compared to these more current events. I'm really looking forward to this date. |
