SWEDISH FISH

The sweetest fish I had to swallow
was red
and gooey
and gluey
and it stuck to me –
to my teeth
and my mouth
and my tongue
which I licked
over and over
as desperate testament
to the memory
of the moment
and the gift given
of that special
sugary
sweetest fish.
