Right, here’s the thing:
You’re not good enough for me.
You’re not smart enough to keep up with my train of thought.
You’re not pretty enough – oh, you’re cute, sure, but I could do so much better.
You’re certainly not funny enough to laugh at my jokes – don’t you know what pee-pee means?

Look, I know you don’t deserve to hear it like this
over your answering machine
while you’re out of town at your aunt’s
but do I deserve to have to tell it to you?
What about my feelings?

I am so sorry it has to be like this
but really it’s best that you know.
You’re simply inadequate in too many ways.

You’re just not good enough for me.
And it would take an amazing amount of legwork
to improve to my exacting standards.
Still, despite how hopeless it is
you have one last chance.
If you don’t shape up, though
you’re out.
Fourth quarter, two strikes.
Your move.
