| Jonathan Berger's Poetry: Poem of the Day |
| IF YOU GO OUT Say it. Say you will. Say you’ll do this special thing. Say you’ll go out with me. If you go out with me I'll stop smoking I'll quit toking I'll cease all online broking. I'll pay for dinner and slowly digest my food while drinking only what you deem acceptable during the meal and dreaming of what you might deem acceptable after (I'd only feel you up if you agree) If you go out with me I won't stare at your chest or look at other women or give a second glance to how much you order – the important thing is your presence, not how much of it. If you go out with me I'll shave my skull If you go out with me I'll dance on the head on a pin If you go out with me I'll go down on all fours to do whatever is necessary to please you to show how much I want to go out with you. If you go out with me I would show you the city as you've never seen it before as no one has ever seen it before in ways unique and unimagined for our eyes only no one could see the city like we would as two simply me and you. If you go out with me I will climb rivers and sing oceans and build lakes of joy with my two hands and a little imagination. If you go out with me I will cry pleasure and cry surprise and cry out curses like “Damn!” and “Good lord!” and “WHAT?” If you go out with me, I make this pledge I will do everything in my limited power to make it the best time of your life. For me, though doubt anything could quite compare with the moment you agreed to go out with me. |
