| SOMETHING MORE II What are we doing? Standing around idly waxing nostalgic about… whatever it is we’re saying. Why should we waste our time? I want to say more to you than ‘Hot enough for ya?’ I want to say more to you than ‘How about them Mets?’ I want to ask probing questions about your past hear interpretations of events only imagined. I want to hear dreams and fantasies and not think they’re sorry cliches like what I heard last week last month last year. I want to do something different. I want to dance with you on rooftops and sing songs on streetcorners for ha’pence or whole pence or holed pants or whole milk – it doesn’t matter. I want to be living at a level higher than I am. I want to be aware that there is more than this present breath. I want us to be intelligent – but more, I want us to be experiential.. I want us alive like we’re not now or weren’t before this outburst. I was us everything we haven’t been: Evil effervescent effective unembarrassed and eternal. I want more. I want more from you, from me, from us, from them – but that might be too much to expect. I want a lot, I think but mostly, I want something more. I want something new. I want you to say something new. So… what’s new? |
