MARK SEGROVES
Mark was born on January 26, 1955 and was born again in September of 1972 at Northside Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Now  that's a date to remember!) He was married to his wife, Deborah on June 1, 1979.

Mark and Deborah have two sons: William A. Segroves, who was born June 25, 1980 and Jeffrey A. Segroves, born November 4, 1985. Since neither of his boys are married yet, they have no grandbabies yet!

Mark and Deborah have their own home-based business, servicing the trucking industry with various licences, registrations, etc., as well as doing business taxes. Mark also serves as music director and sometimes fill-in preacher for Smyrna First Free Methodist Church in Smyrna, Tennessee (just barely outside of Nashville!)

Mark is another one who has sung all his life. He began his singing career(!!) with a group called "The Kings Crew" - singing bass, no less! He has also filled in with "The New Hope Quartet" as their bass singer. I believe Mark has been with The Challengers for nine years now. He is the songwriter in the group and we have recorded several of his songs. Two of them are on our latest recording: "It's Gonna Be Heaven," and "Peace Be Still." We have also recorded "Welcome Home," a tribute to his uncle, "On The Cross Jesus Died For Me," and "I'm On My Way." We are wanting to do a new recording and have told him we wanted to do mostly "Dog" material on the new one (Mark's nickname is "Big Dog."), which statement caused him to have a severe case of ossification of the intellect!!

God has gifted Mark with a unique talent for singing. He has, without doubt, one of the finest bass-baritone voices I have ever heard. His expressed desire is to be used of God to touch souls through music - and God has richly satisfied that desire!
