Tammie Jo Berg Tammie Jo is married to Brain Derus. She has 3 children: Zack 16, Alexandria 13, Paige 11, two step-sons, Joe and Kyle, as well as two grandchildren. She lives in Iola and works as a Youth and Worship Director for Nelsonville Lutheran Church and Peace Lutheran Church in Amherst. Her passion is exposing young people to mission work throughout the United States and in Africa and watching their faith grow. Tammie Jo began playing guitar at 5 years of age when her father put a guitar in her hands. He played in a local country band and her mother gave accordion lessons. Tammie also began playing hammer dulcimer, keyboard, string bass and percussion. Peggy and Tammie began playing together at St. Anthony's church in Tigerton about 20 years ago. They started the Community Folk Choir. Dar also joined this group. After the folk choir, they split into a trio called Chambray. Five years ago, quite by accident, Deidre joined the group and the rest is history. |
