Red hates being hidden. He wants to run out in the sunshine and play with the other children, but Mother keeps him locked away tightly, because she is afraid.
Of course, she has a reason to be. Hes not a normal child.
He has pretty tufted ears of dark black fur, and a tail, and she wonders exactly what his Father was.
She finds out soon enough, when he comes to take him away.
Father has beautiful dark ears, and a long whippy tail, and he even has sharp claws on his fingertips and sharp white fangs and large feathered black wings. Red is ever so happy, and he wants to grow up just like Father.
Its a bit strange, living in a cave and eating berries and raw rabbits, but he adapts quickly, and then his fur starts growing in, and soon he has sharp little claws and teeth.
When he is older, Father grooms him and makes him purr, and brings him gifts of bits of meat and delicious fruits, and then they snuggle together and Father mates him, and it feels nice, and he never goes home to his human life again.
