When Red goes back to high school after several years as a trainer, hes shocked to see how petty and narrow-minded people have become, only concerned with which fashion styles and music songs are cool, retaining nothing of the independence and power they had out in the wild. He finds the Pokemon Centers full of abandoned pokémon whose trainers gave up on their journey, and he shudders.
He doesnt want to turn out like that!
But Father shushes him, and he remembers that no matter what, he will be Champion until someone defeats him, and he thinks of the Elite Four and Gym Leaders, the rare few who did not give up and have now become truly great, and he feels better.
Every night after school, he flies from Viridian High School back to the Indigo Plateau, and spends his nights in Fathers arms.
Its the only way he stays sane now.
