Red never thought hed have a human for a pet.
Firstly, it was illegal. Secondly, it was immoral. Thirdly, he would have never expected it to be Lance, of all people.
Something had gone wrong, Lorelei whispered, her voice choking. There was a trap, a mistake but it had been the only way to save him.
They were unsure of how much of him remained, and even as Lance settled his wings with a proud smile, and purred, Red couldnt bear it. He couldnt bear to see his lover reduced to this
But he had to be strong.
He pulled Lance into a hug, ignoring his chirrups, and tried very, very hard to imagine that nothing had changed between them.
