He felt drunk on victory as Lances Dragonite gave a final bellow and collapsed bonelessly onto the sandy floor below. The Dragon Master recalled his pokémon with an almost surprised expression.
Well, Red, it seems that you have defeated me. You shall now be the new Champion of the Indigo League.
Flashbulbs popped, confetti and champagne filled the air, as Red cheered, hugging his pokémon tightly.
That night, he cuddled up against Lances chest as they sat in a pile of fluffy pillows, sipping hot chocolate from a mug and beaming.

Yes you did. Lance tousled Reds hair with a smile. Youve fulfilled your dream, Red. How do you feel?
