DAY TOUR
TO KUTA BEACH
Depart
from hotel via town of Cakranegara to visit the main market
of Sweta, then to Getap Village to see skilled blacksmiths
making horseshoes, knives and hammers with primitive tools.
Proceed to Sukarara, a weaving village specializing in colorful
sarong and shawls. Next stop is Penujak, where the famous
Lombok pottery is made. Kuta, a beautiful white sandy beach
where legend says there was a king named Beberu who had
a beautiful daughter Putri Mandalika Nyale. The princess
was so beautiful that all the princes on the island fall
in love with her. Unable to choose between them, she invited
all of them to come to the beach. After they all gathered
around, she plunged herself into the roaring sea and her
hair transformed into a sea worm called "Nyale". Even today
this area is called Nyale Beach. On the way back call at
a native Sasak Village, mingle with the people, and see
their traditional house.

DAY TOUR TO
GILI AIR
Depart
from hotel to northen part of Lombok. The first stop will
be at countryside market at the village of Lendang Bajur
where the local farmers grow coconut, tapioca and rice.
Continue driving to Sidemen village where the local people
produce palm sugar from the palms growing on both sides
of the road. Stop at the overlook at Pusuk to see the valleys
in the north. Descending the mountain, drive around the
north coast to Pemenang and cross by "Sampan", a local boat,
to the coral island Gili Air for swimming and snorkeling
along the white sandy beach. (Please brings your own snorkels
and mask).

DRIVING TOUR
TO EAST LOMBOK
Set out
on a driving trip to the east via the town of Selong to
visit Labuhan Haji, the old harbour. During the Dutch occupation
at Indonesia the KMP fleet used this harbour at the beginning
of the wet season when the wind blew from west to east.
From here we can see the western part of Sumbawa Island.
On to Loyok, basket weaving village, and Tetebatu, a hill
resort with natural gardens, a nice place to take rest.

Tour start
at the weaving village of Purbasari at Pamotan Mayura Palace.
This palace was used by the Dutch for storing guns and ammunition
in 1894 during the war with the king of Karang Asem. Visit
the tample at Lingsar, unique because Hindus, Buddhists
and "Watu Telu" Moslems worship together in this one tample.
Stop at Mataram Museum (exept on Mondays). Then on to the
fishing village of Pura Segara.

NORTH LOMBOK
A full
day hiking to the north in the foothill of Mt.Rinjani. Drive
from the hotel around 2 hours with stops en route to reach
Batu Koq Village. Walk up to a point to see almost all of
north Lombok. Descend to Senaru waterfall. Mingle with the
people at the old village of Bayan. If time permits, stop
at traditional fishing village.

EAST LOMBOK
Early morning,
set out for a full day tour. Drive to east Lombok, stopping
to take photos along the way. Trekking start from Pasugulan
Village at the foothills of Mt.Rinjani, to see the old mosque.
Descend to the village to see the people plating or harvesting,
onion garlic or tobacco. Walk 2.5 hours through the rice
fields and enter a lush forest of Lemor to see the long
tailed black monkeys leaping through mahogany trees. On
the way back to the hotel, view the western part of Sumbawa
Island, stopping at Masbagik village to see the local potters
at work.

This program
is regarded as a fascinating destination for trekkers in
the most unspoiled area of northern Lombok, Minimum 10 hours.
Drive to north Lombok, pashing through a lush mongkey forest
at Pusuk, stopping to feed the monkeys. Next stop to is
Tanjung village to wander around countryside market. Drop
in at Bayan village to visit the oldest mosque on this island.
It was the first area used by Moslems to celebrate the prophet
Mohammad's birthday. Trekking start from Dasan Biloq village,
Descending to the huge, crystal clear Mayung Putik Waterfall
to see untouched nature only recently discovered by SWASTIKA
CHARISMA TOURS. Back up to Dasan Biraq village to mingle
with native Sasak people who live in traditional houses
with thatched, archid roofs. See their simple lifestyle,
such as water containers made from the hard shell as any
large fruit and their cultivation of "Lada" (arable land),
where they grow unions, peas, beans and coconuts using system
called "Gotong Royong", or mutual aid, where neighbors help
neighbors regardless of fenced property bound arise.

HALF DAY COUNTRYSIDE

Depart
early in the morning to drive through the countryside to
visit the local market at Lilir village. At this market
see what the people have to sell and witness the real atmosphere
of bargaining and buying. The costumes they wear and the
way they carry their goods. En route there are beautiful
mountain landscapes to see as well as the daily activities
of farmers planting and harvesting their crops. After the
market continue driving to visit the Sasak village of Karang
Bayan to see the typical family houses of the native people
of Lombok which are constructed from wood and bamboo with
thatched grass roofs. The village people are still very
shy but will welcome you with smiling faces. Proceed to
Lingsar temple, the oldest and most unique temple in Lombok.
It was built in 1714 and is still used by three religions
for prayer : Hindus, Buddhists and "Wetu Telu Moslems".

VILLAGE OF
FISHERMEN & HISTORIC TETEBATU
We leave
early in the morning for Tanjung Luar, which is known as
the biggest fisherman's village in Lombok. We will be present
to see the fisherman's coming back to shore with their fresh
catches and watch as they arrange the fish in a special
way to sell them. They will also cook some of the fish using
a very traditional method.
From there we go to the village of Rungkang, a center for
handcrafted ceramics. We will visit a ceramics workshop
to learn the secrets of the local artisans.
Afterward, we will go to a small community near the village
of Loyok to observe how important bamboo is to people in
Lombok. We will see firsthand how much bamboo is used in
the everyday lives of the local people.
Next on our program is the village of Tetebatu, situated
high up in the hills of central Lombok. We will explore
the vicinity with its abundant rice fields and rich flora
and see a historic old hotel, which was formerly a Dutch
retreat during the colonial era.
They have there a typical local restaurant there that overlooks
a beautiful panorama of rice terraces and palms.
On the way back, if time permits we can stop at a village
called Beleka, known for its rattan handicrafts and finally,
stop and spend some time walking around a traditional Sasak
Village.
