David was a farmer on his father's homestead in North Chatham, and many

years was constable and tax collector and also served on the school

committee. Ten children, as follows:

Chatham; d. 29 Dec. 1894, in Chatham; buried with wife at Chandler Cem.,

No. Chatham; m., 4 Dec. 1845, ABIGAIL WYMAN (b. 26 July 1822; d. 9 Nov.

1909), dau. of Jonas & Sally (Noyes) Wyman of Chatham (See family of

Jonas Wyman). Daniel was a farmer at North Chatham, served as a town

selectman and represented his town in the legislature in 1869. Five

MARY GORDON FRYE (b. 24 Sept. 1825; d. 5 January 1909), dau. of Richard &

Hannah (Gordon) Frye of Fryeburg, ME. Asa was a farmer on the homestead

of his father and grandfather in North Chatham. He was active in town

affairs, holding the offices of constable, tax collector, school

committee-man, selectman, and town treasurer. He also served as a county

commissioner for Carroll County from 1874 to 1882. Six children, as

Bryant of West Bridgton, ME. Perley served in the Spanish-American War

and in the First World War; was a farmer and had a milk route; resided in

ME. They resided in Bridgton, where Ruth worked in a bank. Ruth moved

to Citrus Springs, FL, in 1985, and lived with her daughter. Two

children: Priscilla Palmer (b. 1932), m(1) Admont Bachelder; and Pauline

Palmer (b. 1935), m.Alan Douglas.

(3.11.4) GEORGE PAUL CHANDLER, son of Perley & Mildred, b. 10 Oct. 1916,

in Bridgton, ME; m., 2 May 1942, in Portland, ME, ATHALIE GIFFORD (b. 19

Aug. 1918, in Wilton, ME), dau. of Roy & Vera (Hinkley) Gifford. George

is a veteran of the Second World War; worked as a ship welder, carpenter

and cabinetmaker; resides in Falmouth, ME. Two adopted children:

of Bridgton, ME. Philip is a veteran of the Second World War, worked in

the lumber business and made and refinished furniture; resides in

Bridgton. Two children: Laurie Chandler (b. 1950), m. William Severance

and resides in E. Stoneham, ME; and Jack Chandler (b. 1952), married and

resides in Durham, ME.

North Chatham and served his town as selectman, constable, tax collector

and Justice of the Peace. He also represented Chatham in the State

Legislature in 1875 and 1876. Resided at the old Nathaniel Whitaker

dau. of Rufus & Joanna (Grover) Brackett of Lovell, ME. Stephen was a

veteran of the Civil War (Co. H, 23rd Regiment, Maine Volunteers); served

in the Maine Legislature from Stow, 1883-4; served eleven years on the

Stow Board of Selectmen, town tax collector for three years, and Justice

of the Peace for seven years. He was a farmer and resided first at

Fryeburg Harbor, ME, then about 1868 settled in the northern part of Stow

on the former Fife place. In 1900, Stephen's widow, Martha, and her two

youngest children were living in Sweden, ME. Eleven children, as

Fryeburg; m. INEZ B. CUMMINGS (b. 22 Oct. 1857; d. 22 May 1941). Clinton

was a resident of Chatham at the time of his death.

(10.3) JOHN LINDSEY CHANDLER, son of Horace & Mary, b. 10 April 1872; d.

24 May 1925; buried with wife at Chandler Cem., N. Chatham; m., 3 or 30

Oct. 1897, in Fryeburg, ME, HENRIETTA S. BRICKETT (b. 27 Nov. 1879; d. 24

July 1963), dau. of Frank & Olive (Gordon) Brickett. He was a farmer at

North Chatham. John established a summer boarding house (The Royce

House) at North Chatham, which his wife continued to run for many years

after his death. Two children, as follows:

(10.3.1) EVA AUGUSTA CHANDLER, dau. of John & Henrietta, b. 13 July

1898; d. 9 January 1899 (Chandler Cem., N. Chatham).

(10.3.2) EVELYN OLIVE CHANDLER, dau. of John & Henrietta, b. 29 Nov.

1901; d. 27 Dec. 1988; buried at Chandler Cem., N. Chatham; never

married.

(10.3.3) MILLARD HORACE CHANDLER, son of John & Henrietta, b. 22 Dec.

1905; d. 5 Sept. 1987; buried at Chandler Cem., N. Chatham; m., 19 Nov.

1931, in Lovell, ME, (LILLIAN) ANNA CHARLES (b. 8 Feb. 1909), dau. of

(Madison) Omer & Lillian (Charles) Charles of N. Chatham (See family of

Solomon Charles). Millard was a farmer and mineralogist on the Horace

Chandler place at North Chatham. Two children: John Royce Chandler (b.

1934), m. Roberta Cram; and Joann M. Chandler, m. George Chabot.

(10.4) LOUISE M. CHANDLER, dau. of Horace & Mary, b. 10 June 1885; d. 17

April 1960; buried with husband at Wood Cem., Lovell, ME; m., 19 June

1906, in E. Hiram, ME, WALDO N. SEAVEY (b. 1 April 1883, in Stow, ME; d.

12 March 1964), son of (James) Frank & Susie A. (Dearborn) Seavey of Stow

and Fryeburg, ME. They resided in Lovell, where Waldo was a farmer and

land surveyor, served on the Lovell Board of Selectmen and as supt. of

schools. At least two children: Herline Dearborn Seavey (b. 1913), and

Louise M. Seavey (b. about 1919).

(10.5) LELIA AGNES CHANDLER, dau. of Horace & Mary, b. 21 May 1892; d.

23 June 1965; buried with husband at Riverside Cem., N. Fryeburg, ME; m.,

2 Oct. 1910, in Fryeburg, ZACH WILSON CHANDLER (b. 20 Aug. 1885; d. 13

July 1966), son of Jay & Lillian (Thurston) Chandler of North Fryeburg

(See #6.3 in family of Paul Chandler). They resided in North Fryeburg,

where Zach was a carpenter and telephone technician. Three children:

Eva L. Chandler (b. about 1912), m. Reggie Pitman; Ruth M. Chandler

(1913-1997), m. Charles Dennett Chandler; and Horace Lindsay Chandler

(1919-1919).
