I dreamt that we were together again.
I dreamt that you were still here, with me.
I dreamt that we were happy as we had been.
The way that you looked at me, your eyes full of love.
The smile on your face when you saw me.
The way you kissed me.
The way you held me to you.

I awoke with a feeling of loss.
I awoke with a feeling of emptiness.
I awoke with the knowledge of never again.
The feeling that I had finally gotten
what I so desperately sought,
only to have it torn away again.
Only to feel the pain of losing you all over again.
