"Kwong
Lee"
Kwong Lee was our
very first Shar-Pei and the one responsible for our love of this very special breed. Kwong
Lee was only 18 months old when she was taken from us cruelly -- someone intentionally
poisoned her in her own backyard. Kwong Lee will always have a special place in our hearts
that no one else can fill. She was our inspiration for Cherry Hill

Sasha
Sasha was a
Lhasa Apso that Jim acquired in 1982. Sasha traveled with Jim around the U.S. and
Canada after his retirement from the CHP. A favorite memory is, during holidays Sasha
would sit for hours in front of the oven waiting for the turkey to be finished. Nothing
could move her until she had her turkey. Sasha ate her last turkey dinner in October,
1991.

"Baby
Jane"
"Young puppies
belong to God.
We are only the caretakers until He says they are ours."
Baby Jane
was out of Polly's first litter which was whelped on November 4, 1995. She was the
"runt" of the litter but had a wonderful temperament and personality. She could
even hold her own with her big brother "Ace" in the rough and tumble puppy
world. In late January she was diagnosed with heart problems and passed away on February
2, 1996. An autopsy revealed a malformed heart. Our CH KozyHills Caddy's Lil' Deville
"Janie" is named in her memory. She is missed.

Sasquatch
"Squatch
Bunny"
Rescued from
a lonely field in late November of 1994, he grew up at Lois' Grooming Shop. He quickly
became well socialized to all of the incoming pets and people. It soon became apparent
that we had a natural Therapy Cat. Passing all the tests he was accepted into Lake
Superior Paw For Love Therapy program. He quickly became a hit with many of the seniors at
the nursing home and would make himself quite comfortable on their beds or in their arms.
In his short life, he made many visits to schools, nursing homes or other locations where
he was needed. He did his job well and was loved my many. We lost Squatch to kidney
failure in September 1996. He is resting next to Baby Jane in the family pet area.

Lucky
Lucky
and "Mom"
Lucky, also
known as Doodle Bug, came to us in January of 1994 as a rescue. She had been used as
breeding stock at a puppy mill in Bayfield County. When her breeding days were over she
was sold to a family as a pet. This was another Christmas dog that the family became
bored with shortly after the holidays. At that time she was 8 years old.
We intended
to try and find her a permanent home but soon discovered that she had been badly abused
for most, if not all of her life. She had a large scar that ran completely over her
shoulders as well as numerous burn marks that we attributed to as cigarette burns. She
could not move her tail and we later discovered through x-rays that it had been broken
early in her life and cartilage destroyed.
At that time
we decided that she had seen enough horror in her life and that she would spend her
remaining years with us.
She was
known as "grandma dog" and helped care for the Pei puppies. All the other dogs
respected her rank in the house and gave her space and her special sleeping areas.
She had just
turned twelve this January and was slowing down but, she still needed her
"Mom's" special cuddles in the morning.
Lucky passed
on to Rainbow Bridge on February 2, 1998.
