Sleep Consultation

All babies and children need quality sleep and lots of it! Every child’s needs are different, meaning some need more than others. Sleep deprivation is a common cause of irritability and behaviour problems in children.

If you answer yes to the following questions, your child may be sleep deprived:

Does your child wake naturally every morning or do you have to wake him/her?
Is your child grumpy or irritable for most of the day?
Does your child fight you every time you try to put him/her down for a nap?
Is your child extremely “over the top” exhausted by the end of each day?
Do you use props such as rocking to put your baby to sleep?
Do you walk the floor with your baby until he/she falls asleep?
Do you have to lie down beside your baby/child in order for them to fall asleep?
Do you resort to driving your baby around in the car to assist him/her in falling asleep?
Is your baby waking up many times during the night and cannot fall back to sleep without you being there?
Is your relationship with your spouse/partner suffering due to your exhaustion and lack of rest?
Does your child cling to you constantly and give you no time to yourself?

Your child’s behaviour during the day is directly associated with the quality and quantity of sleep/rest they get. If you feel that your child’s behaviour and lack of quality sleeping habits is disrupting your family, I can be of assistance.

If you answer yes to the following questions, I can also advise you on correcting these problems.
Do you feel like your child is in charge?
Does your child refuse to eat properly?
Do you have feeding issues?
Do you wish to devise and establish a routine to suit the individual needs of your family?

Think of me as a Personal Trainer for your family. Even the most minor adjustments to your family situation can assist your child in developing good sleeping habits and in turn, improve his behaviour and mood.

Remember - the most important skill you can teach your child is how to fall asleep on his/her own.
