Current was born in 2004, to Sonora (A42). The little one is Sonora's third calf, and second surviving.
Current travels with mom Sonora, aunt Havannah, and big brother Surf. So far the calf seems to be doing great, and he/she survived its perilous first year.
Summer 2005, Current found an older playmate in the famous whale Springer (A73)! Current's family spent much of the summer traveling with the A11 matriline, and Springer delighted in spending her time playing with the little calf.
Current was named in early 2006 by the BC Killer Whale Adoption Program.
