Klaskish was born in 1991 to Scarlett (B7). Klaskish was her first (and so far, only known) daughter. She was born into an almost all-male family. When she was born, the family consisted of: her mom, her great-uncle Baronet, her uncles Hooker and Bauza, and her older brothers Izumi, Slingsby, Nakwakto and Yuculta.
Klaskish was too small to play with the older guys (Baronet, Hooker, Bauza, Izumi and Slingsby), but Nakwakto and Yuculta were still small enough to be her playmates.
As she grew, her brothers matured and played rough-housing together, while she spent more of her time with her mom, the two girls in the male pod. She also spent time with her older brothers when foraging and such.
In 1995, Klaskish got another playmate in her younger sibling, Raven. The two of them played together often.
In 1998, Klaskish lost her two uncles, Hooker and Baronet, and in 2002, she lost her big brother Izumi.
Klaskish may have had a calf (and lost it) in 2000. This was not confirmed, and seems highly unlikely as she would've been only 9. However, it's possible.
In 2004, at the age of 13, Klaskish had her own calf. Researchers kept an eye on the new mother and everyone was glad to see her bring her new calf back from winter, healthy and well. She's proven herself a capable mother and her little one was named Arrow.
Now, Klaskish is 15 and travels with mom, her brothers and her baby Arrow. She is healthy and well and has her hands full with her two-year-old calf. In the next few years, we can probably expect to see another baby from her. Her fin is now fairly thick and rounded, with a notch near the top on the trailing side.
In 2006, Echo/A55 of the A12s seemed very interested in her! Maybe he was practicing his lady skills!
