greetings clarified
its probably just me, but in instant messanger, i use different greetings depending on my mood. so maybe this is just another guide used when talking to kate, but maybe not.
hey - when you message someone when you want to talk to them, when you message someone you've never im'd before
hi - the basic greeting when someone im's you "hey" and you don't know who it is, or just the normal response so you dont look dumb saying "hey" after someone else says it first. friendly, relaxed, happy
yo - when you have something specific to ask a person or say, as in "yo, i got a new set of wheels" or feel like a change and are too dumb to think of your own expression
hello - i use this when someone im's me and i'm sort of upset and don't feel like being to friendly or excited to see them
sup - when you're a retarted teenage guy who feels like a thug
their name in caps or with exclamation points - obvious excitement to see the person online. just to note that it makes the other person feel really good, so use it occassionally, but not if the person just got dumped, thank you very much
ello or ey - people think this is a typo, but for me, its not. its like the person is bored and feels like making a change to a different accent
i also tend to start out a conversation with one of my strange words, found here. goodbye's are too boring to go through and i dont really find too much of a difference in those. its the first impression that counts. besides, i almost always end my convos with a smile or *hug*. heh. well, if anyone feels like commenting, email me or use the comment box.
