Butterscotch
Almond Bars

1 1/2 c Flour
2 t Baking Powder
1/2 c Butter
2 c Brown Sugar, packed
2 Eggs
1 1/2 t Vanilla
Nutty Topping
1 sq Semi Sweet Chocolate


Nutty Topping

1/4 c Butter
1/3 c Sugar
1/3 c Corn Syrup
2 T Water
1/4 t Salt
1 1/2 c Almonds, sliced

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Combine flour and baking powder. Set aside.
Melt butter in large saucepan. Remove from heat.
Mix in sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Stir in flour mixture.
Spread into a prepared 13 x 9 inch pan.
Bake for 20 minutes.
For nutty topping, melt butter in small saucepan.
Add sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt. Mix well.
Bring mixture to boil; boil 4 minutes stirring constantly.
Stir in sliced almonds.
Spread Nutty Topping evenly over surface.
Return bars to oven for an additional 15 minutes. Cool.
Melt chocolate; drizzle over pan.
Cut into bars.
