Chocolate Oatmeal Cake |

| 2 c | Quick Oats |
| 3 c | Boiling Water |
| 1 c | Shortening |
| 3 c | Sugar |
| 4 | Eggs |
| 2 c | Flour |
| 1 c | Cocoa |
| 2 t | Baking Soda |
| 1 t | Salt |
| 2 t | Vanilla |
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together oats and water and let cool. Add remaining ingredients and beat until smooth.
Pour into greased and floured 9x13 inch pan.
Bake 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
