Cocoa Cake

1 1/2 c Cake Flour
2 1/2 t Cocoa
1/8 t Salt
1/2 c Shortening
1 c Sugar
1 Egg
1/2 c Milk
1 t Vanilla
1 t Baking Soda
1/2 c Hot Water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Dissolve soda in water and set aside.
Cream together sugar and shortening, beat in eggs until light and fluffy.
Beat in remaining ingredients and mix well.
Pour batter into greased and floured 9x13 inch pan.
Bake 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Store covered. This cake remains soft and moist.
