Rocky was our first boxer and the reason for our love of the breed. He was truly the most wonderful dog - full of personality, he was arrogant, stubborn, protective, loving, strong - and strong willed! Rocky taught us of the need for 6 ft fences, he taught us about dog (boxer behaviour), but amazingly once we had worked out the rules he went on to teach all the boxers that came after him. Rocky had a wonderful temperament and would tolerate anything from the kids, playing rough and tumble with our son and gently with our daughter, these attributes he passed on to his puppies - Rocky sired 3 litters one of which gave us Roxy. Rocky attended obedience classes and did well, graduating first in his 'Special Beginners Class' and stopping abruptly there because of his refusal to retreive a dumb bell! He would retreive anything else but no matter what Norman did he just refused! Rocky also had a go in the show ring and his first championship shows he won Puppy of Group. We were very proud particularly as Rocky was a 'plain boxer'. When Tara arrived Rocky's world was complete, he just loved her and they formed a strong bond that was only broken when Rocky passed away very tragically at the age of 8 with a torted stomach.
Rocky will remain in our hearts forever as our first boxer love!.
