My soft spot for        SUDAN page

Many atrocities are being commited in Sudan under the name of jihad, or holy war. The Islamic north has the governments backing against the Christian south.  Villages are burned, men are murdered and women and children are taken into slavary.  My first instinct was to participate in one of the prisoner redemption programs. After much thought, prayer and research, I am choosing to help in other ways. I fear that our good intentions may actually be making the problem worse by creating a slave trade business that profits the Islamic government.  And once the slaves are redeemed, what then?  They have no food, little water, no source of income, often no home or families or even villages to return to.  That is where I feel our efforts might produce the most fruit for God's needy children in Sudan. I urge you to pray and seek the Lord's guidance before participating in any program in any capacity.  I pray that He will grant us all discernment.
