She was the first woman watchmaker in Holland. She was knighted by Queen Wilhemina. There is a tree in Israel planted in her family's honor. She was an honorary member of Indian tribes. Her and her family were arrested on February 28, 1944 for being suspected of hiding Jews in their home (the Beje). She was 51 years old at the time. None of the Jews were captured that day. Her father died in prison 10 days after being taken prisoner by the Nazi's. Her number was 66730. Her and her sister Betsie held nightly bible studies in their overcrowded infested barracks with a secret bible. She was officially released from Ravensbruck two days after her dear sister Betsie's death. (Later, it became known that this was a clerical error on the part of the Nazi's). She later led Nazi Lt. Hans Rahms to the Lord. She traveled all over the world as 'A Tramp For The Lord', and became known to millions as 'Tante Corrie'. She died on her 91st birthday.
