Starting at the VERY basics.......
Evolution is NOT scientific. Webster's dictionary gives the definition of scientific as "method of research in which a hypothesis, formulated after systematic, objective collection of data is tested empiracally."..Websters defines the word empirical as "..relying solely on experiement and observation...." No one has observed any life form evolve..no one can test evolution, no one can recreate it. It is NOT scientific.
The theory of evolution, like creation, cannot be recreated in a laboratory, cannot be proven and had no witnesses. Believers in evolution, like believers in creation by God, rely on faith. But, surely we have evidence of past events, right? What does the evidence say? Let's take a look............
So, let's look at the theory of evolution. We will even start, for arguements sake, to look at evolution from the point of view that it is true . Darwin said...in his infamous book titled On the Origins of Species, that through a process called evolution every living thing changed little by little over millions and millions of years from a pond of molecule goo that came to life....one day........(hear humming of the music from 'Frosty the Snowman'?) ..spontaneously.
I have a few questions for you to ponder for a moment or two. Where are all the fossils of (what I call) 'tweeners'? Over millions and millions of years, there would have to be millions and millions of fossils of living things that were in existance at each 'stage' of evolution. There are NONE. The missing link is the term used for the transitional animal between apes and humans. Lucy, so named in 1974, was claimed to have been that missing link, human from the neck down, and ape from the neck up. After 15 years of studying the remains (which add up to 40% of a skeleton), scientists have agreed that Lucy's hip bones were tilted like an orangutan, and her knee bones were also of the monkey persuasion. There is no way that Lucy's bottom half could have ever walked up right.
Other missing links you may have heard of include Piltdown man,(proven to be a fake), Nebraska man (proven to be a pig) and Java man and Peking man, both of whose skulls were found in the same vicinity and depth as bones of modern man, and animals. Both of these are now classified as homo erectus. The skulls of all the fossils now classified as homoerectus, showed that they had brains within the size range of normal humans. Homo erectus is just like Neanderthal man if you exclude Java man and Peking man. Scientists now believe that Neanderthal man was a modern man with rickets. Rickets is a softening of and bending of the bones from a lack of Vitamin D, which we get from our diet and from sunlight.
In the 1800's Charles Lyell wrote a book entitled Principles of Geology. In this book he put forth the idea that erosion from the elements like rain, wind and snow, slowly and steadily formed our geologic formations. This theory cannot explain formations such as the Hudson River Canyon, which is almost three miles deep, and under water. The fact that thousands of mammoths in Siberia and Alaska have been found that were frozen so quickly, they still had flowers in their mouths contradicts this idea. The fact that there are fossils of sea life on the Tibetan Plateau several miles above sea level also contradicts this theory. Millions of fish fossils that were buried so quickly they didn't have time to decay contradicts this theory as well. Some evolutionists now concede that there must have been a few catastrophes and terrible storms, but that the earth is still 4.5 billion years old. Otherwise, evolution could not taken place.
When a living thing dies, it rots and decays. It is eaten away by bacteria and scavengers. When a fish dies, it floats to the surface and is either eaten by scavengers or it rots. The chances of a fish actually being buried is small. The only way it can fossilize if it is quickly buried. Fossils are found worldwide. There are too many fossils to be the result of a few natural disasters..unless it was global. For instance, a global flood could bury millions of fossils at once. Fossils are found in sedimentary rock. Sedimentary rock is formed when soil is covered by water, or when dust and dirt settle at the bottom of a body of water, and then the water dries up leaving layers of this rock containing fossils.
Sedimentary rock is used by evolutionists to date fossils. These are called index fossils, and act as a sort of bookmark for dating purposes. It is reasoned that the earlier forms of life in the evolution process would be at the bottom, and the more complex forms at the top. These layers are called the geologic column. Evolutionists claim that layers upon layers of the sedimentary rock that make up the columns, like the ones in the Grand Canyon, must have taken several millions of years to form. Now I ask you to consider the possibility of a natural disaster, such as a global flood. How much faster might the rate of erosion be as the flood waters receded? Is there any evidence to prove or disprove either one of these theories?
In 1980, Mt. St. Helen's (a volcano in Washington state) erupted.The mud flows from the eruption laid down layers of sediment almost 600 feet deep.In one place it formed a dam. Water pressure built up behind the dam, and eventually caused a flood which cut a canyon several feet deep into the rock, leaving only a small stream. Within five years, the layers of rock were hardened. What exists now is a smaller version of a great canyon, like the Grand Canyon. What was observed in the process of it's making is that it does not take millions of years for geologic formations to be made.
