PREACHING THE GOSPEL
- God desires all men to be saved, and not one perish. I Tim. 2:4; II Pet. 3:9
- God’s desire should be our desire. Therefore, we need to preach the gospel to all men that they may come to repentance and be saved. Our heart should be large like God’s heart who loves all men and not wanting anyone to perish.
- We believed and were baptized because the brothers and sisters prayed for us and preached the gospel to us. We should be grateful to the Lord and do likewise; pray for all men and tell them of God’s wonderful salvation. I Tim. 2:1
- Preaching the gospel is a commission of Christ. Matt. 28:19; Mark 16:15; John 15:16
- The Lord has commissioned all believers to preach the gospel all throughout the world and to baptize all those who will believe into the Triune God. Our greatest commission here on earth is to save sinners and make them members of Christ’s Body.
- No wonder, the Lord likened Himself to a vine and every believer to a branch because He wants all believers to bear fruits. The vine gives and supplies life to the branches so that the branches having received life from the vine may bear fruits for the vine. As branches our destiny is to bear fruits. By abiding in the vine and enjoying the Lord’s riches we spontaneously can bear fruits.
- Any farmer has no pleasure with unfruitful tree. Likewise, the Lord is not happy with unfruitful believers. Unfruitful branches will be cut off (John 15:2). So maintain the organic union with the vine by bearing clusters of fruits for God’s glory.
Preaching is the way to propagate and multiply the church. Acts 2:41-42; 4:4
Human beings, animals and plants multiply because life propagates. Without propagation there can never be multiplication but rather a gradual extinction.
Therefore for the heavenly race to multiply all believers need to propagate. We need to preach the gospel to gain more people for the increase of the church. Gospel preaching is a divine propagation for God to gain many sons for His economy.
Preaching the gospel is the way to save all men from judgment of the eternal lake of fire. Luke 16:24-29; Rev. 21:8
All people are sinners, thus we are all under God’s condemnation. The fallen man’s destiny is the place of torment.
Since, man’s final destination is the lake of fire, he needs to be saved. Man’s salvation is based not according to his being rich or poor nor being good or bad but according to his believing on God’s word. Hence, we need to preach God’s word that people may believe in Christ and be saved from God’s eternal judgment.
We have the gospel preaching life.
- A dog barks because a dog possesses a life that barks. Likewise, every believer can preach the gospel because every believer possesses the life of the Lord - a life that preaches. God’s life is our divine capacity to preach the gospel.
- Therefore, don’t ever say that you can not preach the gospel. As long as you pray, and by faith exercise your spirit to speak Christ nothing is impossible; you can speak! As long as there is a will there surely is a way.
We have the authority and power to preach the gospel. Matt. 28:18-19; Rom. 1:16
We should not be ashamed of the gospel because the Lord is the One giving us all authority in heaven and on earth to preach the gospel. Every believer is authorized to preach and the gospel we preach is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes. As long as we preach, men can be saved, because to save people is not according to our ability and eloquence but according to the power of the gospel.
If we don’t preach the gospel, men will not be saved. People believe because of hearing the word of God. Rom. 10:14-15, 17
Faith comes out of hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. But how can people believe and have faith in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without one preaches? Therefore, we need to preach the gospel. In the Lord’s eyes the feet of those who go out to announce the glad tidings are beautiful because they can fulfill what God desires - the salvation of all men for the accomplishment His eternal purpose.
Through praying we can have the boldness to preach the gospel. Acts 4:31
Without praying there is no boldness to speak God’s word because there is no infilling of the Holy Spirit. Thus, we need to pray that we may be empowered by the Spirit to preach the gospel.
We are appointed to go out to look for sons peace, families of peace. Luke 10:6
We need to go out and contact people so that we can find those who are open to hear and believe God’s word. It is necessary for us to go into the midst of the wolves to seek out the sons of peace, that is, the Lord’s sheep house by house and to reap them. We should avoid arguments with the unbelieving wolves (Luke 10:3) and we must desperately look for the sons of peace.
We want to bring families, neighbors, relatives and friends to salvation. Acts 16:31; 10:24; Luke 10:27
To love God is to love the people around us. Bring all the members of our family unto salvation. A family is a unit of God’s salvation. Like for instance, through the ark God saved Noah and His family from His judgment, the destruction of the world by the flood. We need to pray and preach the gospel first to the person closely related to us down to the remotest person.
Preaching the gospel is a life full of joy and will help us gain the prize. Rev. 1:5-6; Rom. 15:16; Rev. 20:6; I Cor. 9:16-17
All redeemed believers are priests of God. The main job of a priest is to give offerings to God for His satisfaction. The Old Testament priests only offer animal offerings but the New Testament priests of the gospel offer saved sinners to God as their offerings. We should not meet God empty handed. Our hands should be filled with saved sinners for God.
If we are faithful and prudent to carry out and do our responsibility today as priests of the gospel we can gain a reward. We shall be kingly priests of God and of Christ for a thousand years in the coming kingdom age. Woe to us if we do not preach the gospel. The souls gained by us will eventually be our hope, joy, crown and glory at the Lord’s coming ( I Thes. 2:19-20).
