Inserting an Image
It is very easy to insert
a picture. When you have the cursor where you want the picture to go, click
on Image on the toolbar. It will ask you to
choose a file. It must be an image, such as jpeg or bmp file. You can choose
to have text beside the picture, just click on the type of wrapping you
want. Now apply.
If your picture is
too big, don't panic. Just click on it once, and you can drag in the sides
to size it to your liking. If you go to a corner, and pull it in with a
diagonal arrow, you do not lose any resolution. You can also right click,
and a box will appear. Choose Image Properties,
and you can adjust the pixels. If you change one number (pick any
lower number), the other will change. Try different numbers, and it will
get to the size you need. If you want to put a picture in a chart, just
put the cursor in the cell you want, then click on Image.
IMPORTANT:
-
Make sure large picture files are compressed.
This can be done with a program that edits pictures. Otherwise, they may
not load on your site. They will appear on your computer, but not when
you view it on the web. Also, compressing them makes them take up less
room. Normally, I could save two pictures on a disk. When I compressed,
the image was not altered, yet I could save my whole Index, pages and pictures
on one disk.
-
Secondly, this image must be on your disk
or in your folder. Images and pages are saved separately, so you must have
them together.
To delete a picture,
just click once and hit delete. Pictures take a long time to load, so please
do not put too many on one page. Two should be the limit if possible.
To "borrow" an image
off of the web, right click on it. A box will
appear, and click on Save Image As. Then,
save your picture in your file. It is a good idea to rename it so that
you know what it is by the file name. Try it on the little computer above.
