Excellent, EXCELLENT episode! Wow! Now I can't help but wonder if Daniel's descension in season 7 wasn't a result of his having crossed the line, but rather because he was beginning to convince others to cross the line, as well. Morgan obviously knew Daniel from his time amongst the Ascended, and if her reactions are anything to go by, she was one of those who shared his beliefs. His ability to convince people to do the right thing--even when it goes counter to their own interests--has long been part and parcel of the complex and intriguing person that is Daniel Jackson, and would definitely pose a threat to the ordered ways of the Ascended. Then there was the look of pure joy on his face as the Odyssey approached Atlantis, the amount of cheek Vala gave everyone, the Sam/McKay banter, and Dr. Weir's expression when she came in and found Daniel shouting at the ceiling--not to mention that awkward, silly little wave he gave her that was oh-so early-SG-1-awkward-Danielesque. Oh, can't forget the two-for-one deal, either. And last, but certainly not least... |
