My real job? I'm an
Anglican Priest - I am the
parish priest in a country town in NSW - Australia called Taralga. It's a
very small town with 2 other churches attached so 3 in all. We are very
happy in Taralga and despite the drought Taralga is still a very pretty
town. It has a population of around 350 - yes that's right that small! -
Below is a picture of the church which turned 100 in October 2006. Our
rectory is circa 1879 and is a big stone mansion on ten acres of rectory
grounds.
Why do we make puppets then? We we haven't always been in parish ministry - we were itinerate evangelists for many years and this is how we funded our work apart from the generous help we have received from others along the way. It has very much helped us to do God's work with isolated families and children in the bush. We love making puppets and teaching others to make and use puppets too. Will we keep up the puppet business? Yes indeed as there is always some piece of equipment or other that needs to purchased and we never want to be a burden to our dear congregations but to be a blessing to them.
