Castlevania
Hello again.  Ah, Castlevania.  We have all probably played one of the games in this never ending series, but have any of you ever played the one that started it all?  If you have then I bet you are wondering, as am I, how this game started one of the greatest video game series ever.  To be honest, I have absolutly no clue as to how this game gained popularity.  When I finally got around to playing this one, I thought it was going to be easy compared to number 2 (which I baet and found out that its only hard if you don't know where to go).  Boy was I wrong.  This one makes 2 look like a walk in the park.  I can only get to level 4 (Wright got to level 7 on an emulator but I don't think he will be able to beat Death, who is nearly impossible in this one).  Anyway, in the game you take control of Simon Belmont (who stars and dies in number 2).  The point of the game is to find and kill dracula, but all you really do is go through the stages and kill the bosses (it is the most straight forward Castlevania game that I know of).  The music is alright (it gets used again in later Castlevania games).  The control is good other than you can only make him move when he jumps half the time (but that might just be me).  The challenge isn't to big until you get to level 3 and then it bagins to rise a little.  After 3, the difficulty seems to skyrocket with each level.  The game is overall pretty good, but I still don't know how it started a series when only a handful of people can beat it.
