Toyota Rush

Monday 21 April 2008 when I was on my way to the Internet Shop, there was a Toyota Rush with the color of an egg shell, parking in front of a photocopy shop. Then came a thought in my mind, if I should realize my plan to make a land journey throughout Indonesia with my own fund obtained from someone, a Toyota Rush would be find for me, since it consumed low fuel.

Later on when I was in the Internet Shop and browsed Paris Hilton photos, I found her photos during a visit to Russia.

Yesterday, Friday 25 April 2008, around eleven o'clock when I was at Jawa Street in front of Vinna Mart, a new Toyota Kijang all of a sudden pulled up in front of me, causing me to dismounted from the bicycle. It was then I looked at the license plate of the car, it was a Jakarta license plate that ended with "PH", like the initial of Paris Hilton. The location was also mentioned in my previous letter of  "Inspiring" Paris Hilton's My New BFF.

A few minutes later in front of the Cakra mosque, although it was Friday but since it was still around eleven o'clock no much cars were there, only one car, and it was a black Toyota Rush.

A rich China not threat to world, Bill Gates says

Fri Apr 4, 2:06 PM ET

MIAMI (Reuters) - China's growing wealth is good for the world, and there will come a time when the influence of the United States shrinks to the level of its share of the world population, Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates said on Friday.

Asked at a meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank in Miami whether he regarded China's growing influence in Latin America as a threat, Gates, one of the world's richest people, said not at all.

"The fact that China is getting rich is overall a very good thing. The fact that more minds are getting educated is huge. If you care about the human condition, really then a richer China is better," Gates told a seminar on corporate philanthropy.

"If you think of this theme of relative power, you're just into 'My country is the most powerful,' then you're going to have to be nostalgic and think back to 1947," he said, saying that was when U.S. military and economic power peaked.

Microsoft does not break out sales to China, but demand in emerging markets like China represent a fast-growing part of its $51 billion in annual revenue. Improvements in fighting piracy

in China have contributed to revenue growth in its Windows operating system business.

China, its booming economy hungry for raw commodities, has poured money into Latin America in recent years to get a slice of the region's large mining and agricultural sectors.

The growing Chinese presence in an area the United States traditionally viewed as its backyard has awakened some concerns among U.S. military officials.

China's accelerating military spending in particular has caught the eye of the Pentagon and its increasing role as a holder of U.S. debt and its huge share of U.S. imports has also prompted some hand-wringing among U.S. conservatives.

Gates, who in June will leave behind his executive responsibilities at Microsoft to dedicate himself full-time to the charitable activities of the Gates Foundation, said economic and social advances in the rest of the world would inevitably erode U.S. predominance.

"The fact is the United States is 5 percent of the world's people. At some point we are going to have 5 percent of the world's influence and that's OK," he said.

9 April 2008, I sent a letter in my ex-senior high school friends mailing list, mentioning the birthday of Tyas Mirasih, an Indonesian TV actress with a blend of Java and the Netherlands, whose birthday was on 8 April 2008.

Then I found the news about your mentioning "A rich China not threat to world, Bill Gates says". This message of you seems like related with my mentioning the name of Tyas Mirasih, because her last name Mirasih is containing "Mi" like from the Indonesian word "mie" which means "noodle", the famous Chinese food. While her first name Tyas sounds like the English word "test".

A famous Indonesian actress, Luna Maya, a Balinese girl who is also an ambassador for WWF, planting 100 trees for Kalimantan island through the Internet, at www.mybabytree.org sponsored by WWF

Another famous Indonesian actress, Luna Maya, who is also an ambassador for WWF, on 27 April 2008 told the media about her participation in the planting of trees for Kalimantan, one of Indonesian islands, through the Internet, by browsing through www.mybabytree.org sponsored by WWF. The cost for planting one tree is Rp. 45.000,- or approximately US $ 5. The name of this website reminds me with my previous letter of Paris With a Baby in Turkey.

This tree plantation through the Internet is a good and important effort in saving the respiration for this earth, and Kalimantan is kwon as one of the significant "lung" for the world which forest has began to decreased rapidly in the recent years. If I might suggest you, please participate in this activity for the good of this world through www.mybabytree.org.
