I was sorting through some of my custom/restoration condition ponies when I came across a beat-up Firefly and a Sunbeam with not much hair or symbol left. I noticed how pretty Firefly's blue hair looked against Sunbeam's light blue body, and decided to try a transplant. Soon I had a beautiful monochromatic uni who needed an identity.

For awhile, I've been toying with the name "Starborn" for a custom uni, but this particular pony didn't fit that title. This one, with her blue color scheme, needed to have something to do with water.

Then the name "Deep Blue Sea" (which does not refer to the killer shark movie of the same name!) came to mind, and I designed an abstract wave pattern. I'm really proud of how this custom ended up -- I consider her my best work to date. :)
